Map

The Professional Training Commission of UNIMA has the project of updating the list of universities, schools and institutions with professional training programs in theater of animated forms, puppets and objects..

This map, continuously updated, aims to communicate and make better known the whole, the richness and the diversity of the professional training proposals in the world today.

Projects

Each year, different scholarships are offered for students from different countries to attend courses or workshops, offered by some of the Schools / Programs / Puppet Training Institutions. This offer is also aimed at young people who are in non-formal training in countries where there are no schools.

Since 2014, the main project of the Professional Training Commission has been to organize, every two years, International Conferences on Training, bringing together artists and masters to share ideas and experiences regarding professional training in the arts of puppetry. .Each meeting result in a publication.

The first was held in Charleville-Mézières, in September 2015.
The second was held in June 2017, in Targoviste, Romania.
The third took place in Florianópolis, Brazil, in May 2019.
The fourth is scheduled for September 2022 in Beijing, China.
The fifth is scheduled for 2024 in Africa, location to be confirmed

There are also plans to organize some joint projects between schools (shows, workshops) and to offer special production projects bringing together students from various countries.

Also, we will also start online monthly meetings between historical training programs and others in the making to raise awareness of their operation and promote exchanges, especially with countries where there is no puppetry training.
